1400 Stimulus Payment Eligibility: Who is eligible to still claim this COVID-era payment?

Americans can claim their final stimulus check from the Covid-19 era until 2025 but how do you know if you’re eligible to claim the final payout from the pandemic era, which was officially ended by the WHO in 2023?

The disease has claimed an estimated 33.5m lives from 2020-present, although official statistics say it’s only seven million, by impacting the respiratory system and proved to be especially lethal to the immunocompromised and elderly.

It also ravaged the global economy by forcing nations across the world into lockdown by causing hyperinflation and unemployment so as a result, the federal government attempted to help struggling citizens with financial aid.

This was done through a series of stimulus checks which could be claimed based on eligibility and appropriately filed taxes with the Internal Revenue Service and proved to be vital relief through two instalments.

What are the eligibility requirements?

The third is still up for grabs until April 2025, and here is how you can be sure if you’re eligible to claim and how to do it. The third stimulus check is worth up to a massive $1400 and could be a huge boost to moderate-to-low-income households.

To qualify, claimants must have an adjusted gross income of no more than $75,000 as a single-filer, $150,000 for joint-filers or $112,500 for the head of the household and you cannot be claimed as a dependent on someone else tax return.

As well as being a legal citizen or resident of the United States, or possessing a Social Security number, the tax return in question must be from 2021, no later.

The checks are due to begin being rolled out on Monday, September 2, 2024 which is also known as Labor Day, marked by celebrations and festivals around the United States.
